I am Cathy Healey your School Nurse for The British School - Muscat. I am a UK Registered General Nurse with over 15 years community health and acute hospital experience.

Where You'll Find Me

I am available during term time from 07.15am to 3pm and can be contacted on 24600842 ext. 22. Alternatively, a member of School Office Staff can take a message and I'll return your call.

My Role as School Nurse

First Aid

I am readily available for to care for any child, member of staff or visitor to the school that is unwell or has been involved in an accident; providing them with the necessary first aid care, treatment and advice.

Support

Some children have specific medical needs, for example asthma, diabetes or severe allergic reactions. It is important that all our staff fully understand certain medical conditions and are able to respond to a medical emergency. I work closely with the students, family and staff to provide individual child-centered health plans.

Health Screening

We offer every young person a confidential health surveillance check per year. Height weight and vision are checked and information and advice given on healthy lifestyles.

Education.

Health and education go hand in hand and both have impact on our children's current and future well-being, the more they understand about adopting a healthy lifestyle the better their future lives will be. The health news page will now be a regular feature in the School Newsletter and I plan to introduce health awareness campaigns in the future
