This
spectacular occasion was held on 10th June 2005 amidst the splendour of the Al
Bustan Palace Hotel to celebrate and reward the young sportspeople of the British
School-Muscat.
Throughout the evening the audience of staff, parents and students,
were treated to a series of video presentations, recorded by the Physical Education
Department over the last academic year which showed senior school students performing
superbly in a host of different activities.
Throughout an evening of stunning visual images, the guests were able to hear for themselves of the many achievements of the students, as described for them by the coaches who worked with the students. The obvious mutual respect and appreciation between the students and coaches produced a constant stream of friendly, good humoured banter.
In total, some fifty awards and prizes were awarded. The sparkling trophies were sponsored by the huge generosity of Muscat Duty Free. The three major prizes of the evening were:
| For Sporting Achievement at Key Stage 3 | Stuart Bailey |
| For Sporting Achievement at Key Stage 4 | Dan Taylor |
| Sportsperson of the Year | Katy Nottingham |
The event was hosted by the PE Department: Andy Taylor, Tim Fenton, Barut Yalcin, Jenny Reeves, Ginnie Smith.
Speeches by: Andy Taylor, Tim Fenton, Barut Yalcin, Jason Reeves, Mark Hulbert, Tina Cowell.
In his closing remarks, the Director of Physical Education, Andy Taylor summed up with,
